BOYS’ FOOTIE REPORT

Result:          St. Clare’s 6 – 0 St Thomas Mores

 

Team:          Joe Campbell (Cptn), Conner Hills, Louie Kudiabor, Sean Poole, Sonie Wheeler, Joe Reilly-Morris, Bailey Rosier, Alfie Palser

 

Highlights by the Captain:

In the first half Louie ran down the left wing and put in a lovely ball for Conner to put into the net.  Not too long after Bailey from the right crossed in the ball and Louie’s first touch put it home! Score StC 2 – 0 StTM

In the second half after St Clare’s kicked off, a great passing move from Louie, Joe R-M and Conner saw Joe R-M smash the ball into the top corner.  Shortly after Louie tackled the opposition’s defender and hit the ball into the far corner.  After this Conner scored a fifth goal 30 seconds to the end. A pass from Joe C to Sonie who hammered it the ball into the corner making it 6-0.

Highlights by the Captain:

The highlights for the match for me were great passes from Joe Campbell and great movement from the wingers and pressuring by Sonie Wheeler.  We had loads of break throughs but the opposition was clearing them and good goals from Conner Hills, Sean Poole, Joe Campbell.

 

We played very well!

Highlights by the Captain:

St. Clare’s produced a good performance against Great Clacton in the first half.  Unfortunately Great Clacton scored 12 minutes into the game.  Our team had great chances.

 

Half time: 0 – 1

 

St. Clare’s did great in the second half.  Sean passed to Conner and saw the opportunity and scored 3 minutes into the second half.  Well done St. Clare’s

 

End score: 1 - 1

Result:         St. Clare’s 3 – 0 St Osyth

Highlights by the Captain:

It took us a few minutes to work together but when we did we were awesome!  About half way in the first half Sean got the ball past one player, shot and it went bottom corner.  Then Louie got the ball on the right, went for a cross but it took a deflection and went in.  Half time score 2 – 0 St clares.  At the start we started well, we passed and had some goal scoring opportunities.  But Louie got the ball got past 2, got fouled and won a penalty which he rifled in the middle of the goal and scored.

Highlights by the Captain:

Once again a stunning performance from St. Clare’s!  Sonie Wheeler scoring a first half hat trick.  Lee March with a supreme goal.  Louise made it 5 with half time around the corner.

 

Second half started with a goal, Conner Hills then scored 2 goals.  Sean Poole made it 8-0.  To finish it off a nice run from Joe Campbell and a cross, Sonie Wheeler made it 9!

Result:         Brightlingsea 2 – 3 St. Clare’s

Highlights by the Captain:

We started good. We played long a few times right up until Brightlingsea go the ball and hit it long for their striker to hit it in the back of the net.  Then Sean Poole headed the ball in from a lovely cross by Joe Campbell. 

 

A few minutes later Joe Campbell had a short from outside the box and it slipped out the goalie’s hand into the goal. 0 - 2

 

After that we had a few chances to score til Joe Campbell had a shot but it hit the post and rebounded in by Sean 1 – 3.

 

After that they scored a goal to make it 2-3.  They were a very supportive team but we won!

Highlights by the Captain:

Unlucky St. Clare’s, Hamford grabbed 3 very quick first half goals.  Sonie scored just before half time to make it 3-1.  In the second half there was an own goal by Joe Campbell.  Shortly after Hamford made it 5-1.  With 10 minutes to go St Clare’s had so many chances, hitting the post twice by Conner and Sonie.  A moment before the end Conner smashed the ball into the net making it 5-2.

Highlights by the Captain:

We were relaxed in the first half playing basic football and Conner scored to make it 1-0.  When the second half came we had a comfortable lead and a great ball to Alfie for him to make it 2 – 0.  But then Whitehall came back scoring 2 goals in 10 minutes to make it 2-2.

 

With 3 minutes to go Conner scored the winner to make it 2-2.  A great game with everyone putting in a 100% effort – Well done!

Highlights by the Captain:

We started off quite slow but we soon got going.  We started doing some good passing then Lee played an over the top ball to me and I just about scored.  In the second half we did some good one two’s, Sean passed to Conner and finished a lovely goal off to top the victory.

Highlights by the Captain:

An astonishing game played!  St. Clare’s came close in the second half from a Joe Campbell corner headed onto the crossbar by Conner.  Soon after Sean Poole had a shot inches wide of the far post.  Holland Park had a chance, a poor back pass from Joe C let the striker in, but a wonderful save from Callum.  Well done St. Clare’s.

 

Such an amazing effort by everyone involved.

Highlights by the Captain:

Good start from St. Clare’s with good shots passing, dribbling and calling.  Louie ran down the wing cut in passed to Sean who shot and scored 1-0.  Then Sean ran down the wing crossed it to Louie who made it 2-0.  A few mins later Sonie scored.  We did some good passing, score 3-0.  In the second half we started the same. Then Louie ran down the wing crossed to Sean  who took  a touch, shot and scored 4-0.  Later Sonie took a shot, it looked like the goalie had it, but it went under his arms and in 5-0.  A great match from St. Clare’s!

 

PS: Please come and watch us in the last game of the season this Thursday at Holland Park.  If we win, we win the title.  It is first versus second.
