Welcome to Osprey's Class

We are a class of 23 year 5 pupils.

Staffing
Our teachers are Miss Bell (Mon, Wed-Friday) & Miss Brazier (Mon, Tues).
We are supported by Miss Wilkinson (LSA)

During the autumn term our topic will be 'Dynamic Dynasties'. In science, we will be learning about ‘Forces and Mechanisms’. Take a look at our autumn topic page below for more information about what we will cover in the autumn term.

Reading
We cannot stress the importance of reading at home. Within school, the children have plenty of opportunities to access and read a wide variety of texts. On Wednesday's, the children get the opportunity to visit our school library where they can pick a book to take home and read. These can be changed weekly if needed. 

Miss Wilkinson checks each child's reading record daily. The expectation is that the children read at least 3 times a week at home. If they do this, they will receive a raffle ticket that they can place in the reading book reward boxes. This gives them the opportunity to win a book each term. 

Homework
Homework is set every FRIDAY. This consists of spellings and arithmetic. It is vital that the children complete their homework as this is an expectation, homework not completed will have to be completed within school to ensure the children are practising their spellings as often as possible. 

Important information:

Please make sure that children have their own water bottles that they can bring to school daily. This must contain water, not juice or squash. Please make sure that the bottle is named. Please label all clothes clearly with the children's names.

Our PE days will be on Tuesdays. Please make sure all jewellery is removed. Our school library session is on Wednesday. Please return books on this day so that they can be exchanged. 

Now we are into the second part of the autumn term, children are expected to be wearing our winter uniform. This includes: --

- White collared shirt and tie
- Black skirt, trousers or pinafores
- Black shoes
- Black tights or socks
- Brown jumper/ cardigan with school logo.

Please ensure all hair is tied up fully as per our uniform policy and any bows are small and in our school uniform colours. 

Class Dojo is our main point of contact. We will update this platform regularly. If you ever have any non-urgent questions or queries, please send a message through this platform and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Any urgent messages should be reported through the school office. Thank you for your support.
