St Clare's Catholic Primary School

With Jesus we learn to love and love to learn

Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to St Clare’s Catholic Primary School.

Welcome to St Clare’s Catholic Primary school and thank you for visiting our website.  We hope that you find it useful and it will give you an opportunity to understand what our school is like. We believe every day is an opportunity to improve and better ourselves. Our staff, parents and governors work hard to ensure that every child has an opportunity to succeed. We believe that all children can be successful learners. At St Clare’s we support our children to become resilient, inclusive, compassionate and respectful citizens. Our mission statement ‘With Jesus we learn to love and love to learn’ is central to everything we do.

At St Clare’s we learn to love and love to learn, we pride ourselves on offering a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum which develops children’s curiosity and understanding of a full range of different topics in a highly creative and thought-provoking manner. We believe that for children to thrive in an ever-changing world, they need to have self-confidence and belief in their own knowledge and skills.

To support our pupils to grow in confidence and belief they require a wide range of opportunities and experiences to test out one’s abilities and at St Clare’s we feel confident every pupil has access to these experiences. We are incredibly proud of the fact that we are a mastery maths specialist school, offer nationally recognised music awards and lessons and offer a wide range of sports for children to learn to play. The hard work and effort by all of the staff, parents and carers and most importantly our children result in them consistently outperforming regional and national assessment expectations.

We welcome parents and carers in to the school regularly to share in our pupil’s success in their learning, to showcase the latest drama performances or offer support or to have a catch up and chat.  We regularly work with local organisations and our local church community of Our Lady of Light parish. Wherever there are opportunities for us to improve we will gladly take it and appreciate the honesty and support from those closest to us.

We are part of a MAT with seven other Catholic schools, working together to provide the best education for our pupils. This collaboration continues to provide a network of ideas across the seven Catholic schools. We work closely together to share expertise but at the same time each school runs independently with its own Headteacher and Governing Body.

Our door is always open and we welcome visitors or prospective parents/carers to look around the school. Please contact the school office on 01255 425344 to arrange a visit.
